FYI- I AM able to get packages during training... just sayin'……..
A few tips/guidelines regarding packages:
- IF POSSIBLE, keep it under 4 lbs so I don't have to pay for it, my PC budget is limited
- DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT claim any value on the package when they ask you if there is anything perishable... yada yada yada at the post office, SAY NO SAY NO SAY NO!!! I don't care what is in it, SAY NO! Make up everything you put on the claim ticket and mark it USED. For example, say it's school books, crackers, reading books, etc.
-Take everything new out of the package!! If customs opens it up it is less likely to be stolen if it is out of the package!
- It takes 7-10 days for a package to reach Ecuador
- If you want to send me homemade cookies, brownies, etc. please put it in an airtight food bag thingy or a ziplock bag
- put EVERYTHING in ziplocks! In case of spills, leaks, etc. it doesn't get all over everything
- My birthday is March 27th, plan accordingly :-) hahaha, but seriously, plan ahead! You have 4 weeks!
- Seeing other people get mail and packages makes me jealous, just sayin'
- Please let me know if you send me a package so I can keep my eye out for it
- DO NOT send me checks or cash
- Make sure to stuff the empty space so nothing rolls around
- my mailing address is in a previous post with the blog title MAIL!
- Don’t send me a package after April 10 because I will be getting a new address when I move to my site on April 22nd
To make it a little more convenient for you to send me a package I will give you a short list of things I would like :-) You're welcome, no need to thank me:
- CDs with music!!!! I'm unable to transfer songs from my iPod to my computer :-(
- v-neck white tees or any colorv-neck but black (Mens Small)
- some of my casual nice shirts from home
- granola bars
- creamy peanut butter
- crystal light on the go packets
- books to read
- any type of healthy snack food
- Hand written letters
- anything you think I will enjoy, which it just about everything!
- Something awesome, but not expensive, as a gift for my host parents. I haven’t thought of anything awesome to give them yet.
- clear top coat nail polish
- Kraft Mac and cheese (it’s $2.50 a box here, I refuse to buy it on my PC budget, not happening)
- body splash
- jewelry from my house
- headbands! J
- 1 qt size freezer bags
- t-shirts (not black)
- pictures of you! Sounds corny, but then I get to see what’s going on in your lives and I get to hang the pics up in my room and show everyone!
- gum
Packages are somewhat expensive, but letters and cards only cost .98 to get here!! I would love getting one of those too!
